Please read the instructions for use (IFU) carefully before performing the test. Contact a Viet Huy technical specialist for on-site validation support in your laboratory.
Allergic bronchopulmonary disease caused by *Aspergillus* (ABPA) and chronic pulmonary *Aspergillus* infection are the most common forms of disease caused by this pathogen, commonly seen in patients with asthma or cystic fibrosis. Invasive *Aspergillus* infection - a less common form - usually occurs in immunocompromised patients and can lead to infection with high mortality and severe morbidity. Treatment varies depending on the form of the disease and may include antifungal drugs or surgery.
The main causative agent of *Aspergillus* diseases is *Aspergillus fumigatus*. However, other *Aspergillus* species are also emerging as agents capable of causing serious invasive infections; notable among them is *A. terreus* - a species particularly resistant to the antifungal drugs commonly used in treatment - as well as *A. flavus*, *A. glaucus*, *A. nidulans*, *A. niger* and *A. ustus*. Rapid, accurate and reliable diagnosis is essential for establishing an appropriate treatment regimen, helping to shorten stays in intensive care units and increase patient survival rates.
