Devyser Resolution XY v2 is an in vitro diagnostic QF-PCR kit for determining aneuploidies of the sex chromosomes X and Y. The kit uses an extended set of STR markers on these two chromosomes, in which three markers, AMELXY, SRY and ZFXY, play a key role: AMELXY distinguishes X from Y through the size difference of the amelogenin gene, SRY confirms the presence of the male sex-determining region on the Y chromosome, and ZFXY serves as an internal control with simultaneous amplification on both chromosomes. Three dedicated copy-number markers for the X chromosome support the diagnosis of monosomy X.
